On this occasion I share with you a brief information about the artistic offer we have for you. I will start by putting the news at the top: Xurxo Fernandes’s Levaino!, Ali Do\u011fan G\u00f6n\u00fclta\u015f, Di Gasn Trio and mujereson<\/em>. This last one is so new that it hasn’t been premiered yet!<\/p>\n

XURXO FERNANDES – <\/strong>Galicia<\/strong><\/h1>\n

“Levaino!<\/em>“, that is, “take it<\/em>“. “Take it, take the song of our motherland<\/em>“.\u00a0That is the call that gives its name to the new work of Xurxo Fernandes, the restless Galician singer, dancer and folk collector, after spreading his knowledge and his art throughout Europe with Radio Cos. He is accompanied by a line-up of four musicians and a troupe of colourfull entertainers.<\/p>\n

ALI DO\u011eAN G\u00d6N\u00dcLTA\u015e – <\/strong>Anatolia<\/strong><\/h1>\n

After hundreds of concerts in Turkey and two albums released with his extraordinary band of postrock, collage and experiential genres\u00a0Ze T\u00eeje<\/a>, the Kurdish artists from Anatolya, settled in Istanbul, has self produced his album\u00a0Ki\u011f\u0131<\/em>,\u00a0a personal look at the 150-year musical process of Ki\u011f\u0131, his birthplace, consists of works in the regional languages of Krmancki, Kurmanci, Kirdaski, Armenian, and Turkish.<\/p>\n

DI GASN TRIO (QUARTET) – <\/strong>Israel<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Di Gasn Trio (quartet most of the times) is a band\u00a0chiefly influenced by music of the Balkan region and Klezmer music of Eastern Europe, blending additional elements of jazz, Arabic and classical music.\u00a0Gal Klein and Yanush Hurwitz met\u00a0in 2013.\u00a0The fusion of these two musical ‘worlds’, though seemingly far apart but which actually embrace one another, created a unique musical result.<\/p>\n

mujereson, <\/strong>by Patricia \u00c1lvarez & Vig\u00fcela – <\/strong>Spain<\/strong><\/h1>\n
mujereson<\/strong>\u00a0is born from a question:<\/div>\n

How can we women continue to enjoy tradition despite the message and the narrative it constructs about us?<\/strong><\/p>\n

mujereson<\/strong>\u00a0is a dialogue between the group Vig\u00fcela and the dancer Patricia \u00c1lvarez. A dance approach to how women are portrayed in the repertoire of Castilian sones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

RODOPI ENSEMBLE –\u00a0<\/strong>Greek Thrace<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Thrace is the birthday of Dionysus. A\u00a0region at the Balcans, on the Southeast of Europe, at the North of Aegean sea, splitted between Bulgaria, Greece and the European Turkey. In Trace, the administrative borders blur in a cultural continuum that is evident on the unique features of its music and its dances. From the Greek part of Thrace it comes the\u00a0Rodopi Ensemble.<\/p>\n

HUDAKI VILLAGE BAND –\u00a0<\/strong>Ukraine\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Nick Hobbs, CHARMWORKS: “I don\u2019t know if there is a village called Hudaki but, if there is, that\u2019s where I\u2019m retiring to. Their music has a lovely languidness, speaking for itself without showy display. There\u2019s no lead singer; voices and instruments come and go in all kinds of combinations. They\u2019re delightful; positively adorable<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

VIG\u00dcELA – <\/strong>Castile-La Mancha<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The unique masters of son, jota, seguidilla and fandango.\u00a0The history of Vig\u00fcela is the story of a vital surrender to a cultural legacy of a wild and very ignored beauty: the traditional music of the center of the Iberian Peninsula.<\/p>\n

JANUSZ PRUSINOWSKI KOMPANIA –\u00a0<\/strong>Poland<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Janusz Prusinowski Kompania is the main representative of Polish traditional music, appreciated internationally both by the institutions and the public. At the same time, they are born entertainers, that combine their work in concerts in very diverse contexts, from rural parties to temples of music like the Carnegie Hall in New York, with folk dance workshops.<\/p>\n

ENTAV\u00cdA –\u00a0<\/strong>Castile and Le\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Roots attached to the past and wings to fly towards the future\u2026 Entav\u00eda is a project born in Salamanca, made up of like-minded musicians. Entav\u00eda released their first album, Ra\u00edces con Alas, in 2017. And in Autumn of 2021 they released their second work: Arando \u00d1ieve (Plowing Snow). They have played massively in Spain and have performed also in Portugal and Greece. This second album will be the definitive boost for their international career.<\/p>\n

MONSIEUR DOUMANI – <\/strong>Cyprus<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Cyprus’ most exported cultural product since Aphrodite. During their 9-year career Monsieur Doumani have received numerous awards including the \u2018Best Group\u2018 Award in Songlines Music Awards 2019, the \u2018Critics Award\u2019 in Andrea Parodi World Music Awards and the German Records Critics Award (Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik) for their album Angathin (2018), which has also been awarded as ‘Best Album of 2018’ in the Transglobal World Music Chart\u201c.<\/p>\n
