Nicky Parott in the bass)\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2f4f4f;\"><strong>I love the clarinet in klezmer. How not? A good clarinetist of klezmer makes the instrument talk, laugh and cry in an unpredictable flow that caresses your soul.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/bc493816d894ee14ba9103e7b\/images\/66a7d03c-b63d-4a39-96e2-f005b014b41c.jpg\" width=\"254\" height=\"254\" data-file-id=\"1762988\" \/>The &#8220;\u00e0 la Bechet&#8221; refers to\u00a0<strong>Sidney Bechet<\/strong>, a black composer, clarinetist and saxofonist from New Orleans, born in 1897 with an innate talent for music that would develope from a very young age. He is widely known, but if you want to learn more about his biography, check for instance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.last.fm\/music\/Sidney+Bechet\/+wiki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this<\/a>. And you can listen him playing clarinet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tN2EurONieA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. David Krakauer calls Bechet his &#8220;<em>teacher he never met&#8221;<\/em>, as he explains in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HcgxPtw6A-A&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=490\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this interesting interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And <strong>David Krakakuer<\/strong>? Well, he is also a master, composer and clarinetist, recognized as one of the best clarinetists on planet Earth, with a strong career both in modern klezmer and in classical music.<\/p>\n<p>David was born in 1956 in New York, where he lives. I mentioned him <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapamundimusica.com\/en\/musicbeforeshabbat\/english-music-before-shabbat-with-meshuge-klezmer-band-and-i-must-confess\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in this edition<\/a>, related to Meshuge\u00a0Klezmer Band and David&#8217;s initiative <em>Music from the winery<\/em>. So, apart of his own career, David provides dissemination of the work of other artists too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"color: #747474; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/bc493816d894ee14ba9103e7b\/images\/4e5d5c53-53d9-4705-8595-246aa48a3edc.jpg\" width=\"349\" height=\"404\" data-file-id=\"1762996\" \/>David started in classical music and recovered the music of his ancestors in his early 30s, when he became curious about his ancestors.
