Enjoy with Polish Jewish music from the work\u00a0Kolberg po \u017cydowsku<\/em>, by\u00a0Foundation\u00a0Muzyka Odnaleziona<\/a>, after research by Andrzej\u00a0Bie\u0144kowski.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

<\/p>\n

Some Music Before Shabbats<\/em>\u00a0ago (specifically in this one<\/a>) I mentioned the album\u00a0Kolberg po \u017cydowsku<\/a><\/em>, that\u00a0collects the recordings made by Andrzej Bie\u0144kowski from old musicians who learnt the pieces from Jewish neighbourgs, played in Jewish weddings or listened Jewish bands in their youth.\u00a0The oldest recording is\u00a0from 1986.<\/p>\n

I have chosen the wild piece that opens the album:\u00a0Taniec \u017cydowski.\u00a0This piece was recording in 1992 in the village of\u00a0Jasionowo, that belongs to Powiat Suwalski (Northeast of Poland, near the border with Lithuania. The musicians are\u00a0Franciszek Racis (born in\u00a01922),\u00a0first violin, Sylwester Ja\u015bkiewicz, second violin, and Zbigniew Racis in the\u00a0b\u0119benek\u00a0<\/em>drum.<\/p>\n

This album has been a present from Janusz Prusinowski, to who I am very grateful, who participates in the album too, in the second part, where a younger generation of musicians play pieces known as Jewish, learnt from their masters.<\/p>\n
