Fortunately, the festival programmed three concerts with them. And if they had been four, I would have seen them four times. Such is the charm of this band, that comes from a little village from Zakarppatia, the oblast on the southwest of Ukraine. From the very first moment their presence catch and surprises you, promising a experience as rich as the colouring of their clothes. The promise is widely fullfilled in an unforgettable concert in which the music, that is steeped in the Slavic vocal tradition, Romanian melodies, Jewish and Romany rhythms, makes you want more and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Araceli Tzigane<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h5>Neal Copperman, AMP Concerts (Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA):<\/h5>\n<p><em>&#8220;<\/em><em>H<\/em><em>udaki Village Band were an unexpected delight at WOMEX.\u00a0I was expecting a\u00a0<strong>high energy<\/strong>\u00a0Eastern European dance party, which they definitely delivered.\u00a0I was not expecting a\u00a0<strong>nuanced and fascinating performance<\/strong>\u00a0that shifted tone and energy as different band members took the spotlight.\u00a0It truly was a village of people, full of personalities and styles that were\u00a0<strong>distinct and fascinating<\/strong>, as well as being a great party band!&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h5>Nick Hobbs, CHARMWORKS:<\/h5>\n<p><em>&#8220;<\/em><em>I<\/em><em>\u00a0don\u2019t know if there is a village called Hudaki but, if there is, that\u2019s where I\u2019m retiring to. Their music has a lovely languidness, speaking for itself without showy display. There\u2019s no lead singer; voices and instruments come and go in all kinds of combinations.
